HOUSTON — Texas Southern volleyball wrapped up its regular season with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Alcorn on Friday afternoon at the Health & Physical Education Arena.
The Tigers controlled the match from start to finish, winning by set scores of 25-18, 25-11, and 25-11. TSU hit an impressive .379 as a team and held Alcorn to a -.084 hitting percentage.
Senior Gracie Lee led the offensive charge with 13 kills on a .462 hitting clip, while Ava Houston and Morgynne McQueen each added seven kills. Lauren Battle contributed eight kills and two service aces, and Gracie Hill was a force at the net with 12 kills and four service aces.
Setter Ava Ray paced the offense with 14 assists and added 11 digs, while libero Lauanna Pino Watanabe anchored the back row with 12 digs and a .917 reception percentage.
Texas Southern dominated in all phases, recording 51 kills to Alcorn's 19, and out-blocked the Lady Braves 4.0 to 1.0. The Tigers also tallied 10 service aces and 31 digs.
