Texas Southern Sweeps Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the Road

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Texas Southern earned a dominant 3-0 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday night at H.O. Clemmons Arena, winning by scores of 25-14, 26-24 and 25-18 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Tigers posted their first conference win of the season behind a balanced offensive attack. Gracie Lee led the way with 15 kills and a .667 hitting percentage, while Lauren Battle added 10 kills and 10 points. Kourtni Collier chipped in 12 kills and 10 points, and Emory Harper contributed six kills on .833 hitting.

Texas Southern came out strong in the opening set, hitting .375 and converting 73 percent of its sideouts to take a 25-14 win. The second set was a thriller, with TSU rallying late to secure a 26-24 victory. The Lady Tigers closed out the match in the third set with a .257 attack percentage.

Defensively, Ava Ray anchored the back row with 19 digs, while Gracie Hill added six kills and six digs. TSU finished with 39 digs and one team block.

Texas Southern returns to action next week to close out the regular season against Grambling on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2 pm.
