PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — Texas Southern women's soccer saw its season come to a close Thursday night with a 2–1 loss to Alcorn State in the opening round of the SWAC Tournament at Lady Panther Soccer Field.
The Lady Tigers struck first in the 32nd minute when senior forward Kamara Bradley netted her seventh goal of the season off a crisp assist from Liliane Clase Baez, giving TSU a 1–0 lead heading into halftime.
But the second half belonged to Alcorn, who responded with two goals from Ainara Aldeano, both assisted by Annick Zouma, in the 61st and 73rd minutes. Despite a flurry of late substitutions and attacking efforts, TSU couldn't find the equalizer.
Bradley led the Lady Tigers with six shots, four on target, while goalkeeper Alicia Audu recorded six saves in a gritty performance between the posts. TSU outshot Alcorn 18–14 and held a 6–4 edge in corner kicks, but Alcorn's keeper Bame Mokime came up clutch with nine saves to preserve the win.
The Lady Tigers showed heart and hustle throughout the match, dominating possession early and creating multiple scoring chances. But in the end, the Lady Braves' second-half surge proved too much.
Texas Southern closes the 2025–26 campaign with pride, having battled through a competitive SWAC schedule and shown growth across the roster. With several key returners and young talent emerging, the foundation is set for a strong bounce-back next season.
