Pair Of Newcomers Tops The Charts At Women's Cross Country Season Opener

A pair of newcomers finished 1-2 for the Texas Southern women's cross country team as they kicked off the 2023 campaign in a dual meet against the University of St. Thomas last week.
 
Freshman Alyvia Brown had a successful collegiate debut with a first-place finish of 12:29 in the 2-mile run at Hermann Park. Fellow freshman McKenna Duty finished second in a time of 12:49. Shelby Brooks, Jessica Williams and Arriana May rounded out the TSU runners as TSU finished with 39 total points.
 
The team is back in action this Friday evening at the Rice University Invitational which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. on the Rice campus.
