Tied at seven in set two, the Tigers took their largest lead of the set, 13-9 capped by a kill from Chenise Cook and a Lady Hornet attack error. After the next three points from ASU, Amber Johnson would slam one to the ground for the Tigers as they led 14-12. ASU answered back with the next eight points to take a 20-14 lead. Texas Southern responded with a 4-0 run led by a Reed kill to cut the deficit 20-18. A score of 21-19 was as close as the set would get as TSU fell 25-20.

ASU remained dominant in set three as they led the entire time. The set was as close as a four-point deficit (22-17).

TSU 3, FAMU 1: 18-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-10
