EDINBURG, Texas – The Texas Southern soccer team fell to UTRGV as they kicked off a doubleheader weekend on Friday evening.
The Tigers returned to the pitch following a postponed game last week and came out onto the pitch with a strong defensive side. UTRGV delivered the opening goal within the first six minutes of the match but TSU would recover defensively as they defended three more goals before UTRGV scored their second and third goals.
The second half saw the team's defensive side remain intact as senior Jaidyn Christophe displayed her experience by blocking eight shots.
Sophomore Hayden Mcmillan delivered the team's first goal attempt in the 67th minute while senior Asia Sylvan delivered her shot attempt in the 84th minute.
The Tigers are back in action on Sunday when they take on Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
