– The Southwestern Athletic Conference has recognized Texas Southern's Kirby Anderson as the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after her play in competition from Aug. 28- Sept. 3.

The SWAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year lived up to the billing with a steady performance in the middle of Texas Southern's offense, particularly during Lamar University's Cardinal Classic.

After an eight-kill, three-block effort versus Houston Baptist – during which she hit .467 – the 5-11 senior from Duncanville, Texas posted 29 total kills in the Cardinal Classic, highlighted by a 10-kill, five-block assist line in the Lady Tigers' four-set win over Southern.

For the week, Anderson totaled 37 putdowns and averaged 2.64 kills per set.
