HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers Volleyball picked up their third conference win in four sets against Grambling State in front of boisterous home crowd at the HPE Arena Sunday evening.
The Lady Tigers had three players that notched double digit kills with Eboni Mitchell pacing TSU with 18. Kirby Anderson and Jada Hall would put away 12 and 11 kills respectively.
Breyanna York continued with her exemplary stat filled night as she contributed an impressive 42 assists, 9 digs, 2 kills, and 3 block assists.
Talicia Lang led Grambling with 12 kills, and 14 digs while hitting .233. Keverion Ward added 11 kills, L'Muriell Thrower contributed with 28 assists.
Texas Southern threatened a clean three set sweep taking the first two sets (25-19) and (26-24) before Grambling would claw back to take the third set (25-22). The Lady Tigers would close out Grambling (25-23) with a spirited fourth set that saw several lead changes.
The Lady Tigers return to the friendly confines of the HPE on Monday, October 1 at 4:00 p.m. against Southern.
