Lady Tigers drop home opener to HBU in three sets

HOUSTON-The Texas Southern Lady Tigers Volleyball fell to Houston Baptist (13-25, 18-25, 23-25) in their season home opener Tuesday afternoon in HPE Arena. 
 
The Lady Tigers struggled in the first two sets, but earned their first lead of the night when scoring the first point of the third set.

From there TSU continued to gain momentum in a neck to neck match ending in hard fought loss. 
 
Kirby Anderson led Texas Southern in kills with eight while teammate Jordan Brown led in digs with 10.

Mikayla Vivens led Houston Baptist with 11 kills and Hannah Lewis had a team high 11 digs. 
 
The Lady Tigers fall to 0-4 on the season while the Huskies improve to 4-0. 
 
Texas Southern will look to earn their first win of the season on Thursday August 30, 2018 when they head to Beaumont to take on the Lamar Cardinals.
