Alabama State outlast Texas Southern 30-21

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Texas Southern Tigers football team dropped a 30-21 road decision to the Alabama State Hornets on Saturday.

After tying the game at 21 all in the third quarter the Tigers surrendered nine unanswered points in the fourth quarter as ASU went on to claim the victory.

For the game TSU amassed 337 total offensive yards (88 R, 249 P) while the Hornets tallied 326 yards of total offense (155 R, 171 P).

Individually for the Tigers quarterback Devin Williams went 8-14 for 227 yards and a touchdown. Brad Woodard gained 72 yards on 17 carries while racking up two touchdown rushes in the loss. Wide receiver Tren'Davian Dixon hauled in two receptions for 103 yards and a score.

Defensively for TSU Julian Marcantel tallied 13 stops, one tackle for loss and one interception.  

The Tigers will have a bye week before returning to BBVA Compass Stadium to host their final home game of the season versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 17).
