HOUSTON– Texas Southern picked up the third game of their series against Jarvis Christian on Saturday, 8-3 at MacGregor Park. TSU won the first game of the series 7-3 before dropping game two 6-2.
Texas Southern scored two runs in the third, fifth, seven and eighth innings. Ryan Lazo led the Tigers with three hits, including a double, two RBI and three runs scored, while Chris Scroggins had two hits and two RBI. Oloruntimilehin chipped in two hits and two RBI as Gerreck Jimenez had one hit and a RBI.
Jarvis Christian got on the board, Javion Randle doubled and Carlos Andrade followed with a home run to right field. Ivan Alvarez picked up a RBI single in the fifth inning for JCC's third run of the game.
TSU's Robert Pearson (2-4) scattered three runs on six hits, struck out six and walked two over seven innings of work for the wins.
Jarvis Christian's Luke Thornton gave up four runs on seven hits, three walks and one strike out in four innings of action to take the loss.
