Texas Southern 3, Incarnate Word 0

BEAUMONT, Texas  – A three-run burst in the fourth inning was all Texas Southern needed in a 3-0 victory over Incarnate Word during the Lamar Cardinal Classic.

In the deciding frame, Kierra Patton led things off with a double. Krystalani Yockman followed with a RBI single up the middle. Chanler Powell delivered a double to score Yockman, and a RBI single to right field by Destiny Chavarria capped things off.

That was all the run support Lauren Rodriguez needed for the Lady Tigers (3-4), as she allowed five hits but no runs in a complete game victory, her first win of the season. She struck out four hitters.
