MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State Lady Hornets continued to be a thorn in Texas Southern's collective side this weekend as they defeated the Lady Tigers in a three-set sweep.

Scores of the match were 27-25, 25-21, and 25-14.

Bayle' Bennett's 15 kills led the way for the Lady Hornets (18-8), who remained undefeated in Southwestern Athletic Conference play with a 15-0 league record.

Audriana Carson led the Lady Tigers (16-10, 12-2 SWAC) with seven kills. Allison Woods registered 12 digs for Texas Southern. Nicole Robinson (pictured) had six kills and a .357 hitting percentage during the match.

TSU's only two losses in SWAC play have been against Alabama State.

The Lady Tigers held leads of 24-23 and 25-24 in the opening set, but were denied set point each time. Alabama State rallied for the last three points of the set, with the Lady Hornets picking up their last two points on unblocked TSU errors.

The Lady Tigers return to action Friday when they visit Southern as part of their last road trip of the season. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. TSU visits Alcorn State the following day.
