BATON ROUGE, La. - Lenard Tillery rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown and Southern University converted two interceptions into scoring drives to get a home win against Texas Southern by a score of 26-10 on Saturday.
Jarius Moore intercepted Austin Howard's first-quarter pass and returned it 73 yards for Texas Southern's only TD.
Tillery scored on a three-yard run and Herbert Edwards scored on a one yard run after Treveon Epps picked off a second-quarter pass by Averion Hurts to lift the Jaguars to a 14-7 halftime lead. SU would add to their lead in the second half as they capitalized off TSU miscues.
Brad Woodard gained 105 yards on 11 carries. Defensively Jarius Moore had his best game so far this season racking up 14 tackles and an interception return for a TD.
The Tigers return home to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff this weekend at BBVA Compass Stadium.
