HOUSTON-The Texas Southern Lady Tigers soccer team got off to an exciting start of league action with a 7-1 win over Grambling State on Friday at Alexander Durley Stadium.
TSU led 2-1 at intermission and tacked on five more goals in the second half of play.
Marlyn Campa and Kailand Thompson each recorded two goals during the contest to help lead Texas Southern to an impressive win over a conference opponent.
"Hopefully we can come out with this type of intensity in all of our conference games this season," said TSU head coach Kathryn Saunders. "We're very pleased with the way we competed out there tonight."
Texas Southern now shifts attention toward the Lady Lions of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The two teams will play a highly anticipated game which is set to be broadcast live on the SWAC Digital Network.
