BATON ROUGE, La.- The Texas Southern Tigers baseball team wrapped up a three-game sweep of the Southern Jaguars on Saturday as they improved their record in SWAC play to 7-2 on the season.

Game OneRobert Garza paced the Tigers scoring attack in game one of the series driving in two RBIs while tallying two hits. Larry Romero got the win pitching three innings and giving up no runs.

Game TwoThe Tigers defeated Southern by a score of 4-1 as Frank Cruz picked up the victory pitching six complete innings allowing no earned runs while striking out seven batters Zach Howell tallied two RBIs while Robert Garza and Horace Leblanc each contributed one RBI. Seth Olive got credited with the save pitching three innings while striking out five batters.

Game ThreeTexas Southern closed out its series with Southern with an 8-4 win at Lee Hines Field. Robert Pearson got the start and the win for the Tigers pitching six innings allowing just one earned run while striking out three batters. Jerry Ford erupted for four RBIs in the contest on three hits in four at bats. TSU plated three runs in the first two innings and tacked on two more in the ninth.
