GREENVILLE, S.C. – Texas Southern dropped a 76-56 contest versus Clemson Thursday night.
Texas Southern (0-3), who led by as many as eight in the first half, took a 33-31 lead into the break after shooting 41 percent (7-for-17) from three-point range.
In the second half Texas Southern allowed Clemson to go on a 21-4 scoring run during the first 10 minutes of the period, and was unable to recover from the outburst.
TSU went 8-of-30 in its field goal attempts during the second half (27 percent), including 2-of-12 (17 percent) from long range.
Malcom Riley led Texas Southern with a game-high 23 points and five rebounds. Chris Thomas added 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.
