PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas- Texas Southern's Malcom Riley drove for a layup and made six free throws in the final 1:12 to help secure the Tigers' 81-77 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday night.
Prairie View converted two consecutive treys to close to 80-77 with three seconds remaining.
Chris Thomas and Deverell Biggs made the final three free throws to stave off the Panthers.
Prairie View led 59-54 with 8:13 left in the second half. Riley, Madarious Gibbs and Jason Carter made free throws to give Texas Southern a 65-61 lead with 3:56 remaining.
Gibbs had 21 points, Thomas added 18, Riley finished with 13 and Biggs had 12 for Texas Southern.
