HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers soccer team took the field for their first conference game of the season on Friday. TSU played host to Alabama A&M at Durley Field and if Friday's match was any indication the Lady Tigers are definitely headed in the right direction.
After falling behind 2-0 Texas Southern rallied back to score two goals in the second half as Tiana Humphrey nearly pulled off a hat trick as she netted two goals at critical points of the game.
"The way we competed out there tonight really shows the resiliency of this team," said TSU head coach Kathryn Saunders. "There were several points in the game where we could have hung our heads and given up but they kept on fighting and as a coach that is what you want to see from your team during times of adversity."
Texas Southern will take to the field on Sunday, Sept. 28 as the Lady Tigers are slated to host Alabama State at Durley field at 1:00 pm. Â Â Â
