Richard "Trey" Brainerd joined the TSU family in the summer of 2019 and begins his second year on staff.

Brainerd completed his undergraduate studies at Towson University in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science. Upon his graduation, Brainerd furthered his studies as a graduate assistant athletics trainer at Southern Illinois University where he earned a M.S. in Education. He moved to Houston and completed his athletic training residency program at Houston Methodist Hospital Willowbrook.
