Twila Stokes was named a member of the Texas Southern women’s basketball staff in 2012. During the 2012-13 season Stokes served in the capacity of Director of Basketball Operations.

She was promoted Assistant Women's Basketball Coach in July of 2013. Her primary duties will be assisting with academics, recruiting, while also assisting with the development of TSU post players.

Stokes arrived to TSU after serving as the head volleyball and basketball coach for the Energized for STEM Academy, Inc.

The California native brings with her a wide array of administrative experience having served in a variety of capacities in the field of athletics over the past several years.

During her playing days Stokes was a key member of the Prairie View A&M basketball team as she helped lead the Lady Panthers to a Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament Title in 2006-07. PVAMU repeated as regular season champions in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree from PVAMU in mathematics in 2010.
