Taylor Hawkins joins the TSU women’s basketball staff as the team’s Director of Operations.
Hawkins recently spent three years at Westcliff University in Irvine, Calif. as both an Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Women’s Basketball coach/player development. As the Assistant AD of Student Life, Hawkins played an integral role in the daily operations of the athletic department while also in charge of creating and implementing marketing plans for student-athlete involvement. She also participated in fundraising endeavors for the department while working in game operations.
Prior to moving over to the administrative side, Hawkins spent the 2019-20 campaign as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program. In addition to her on-court duties, Hawkins was tasked with monitoring the team’s academics, team travel, community outreach and social media coordination.
Before her move to the West Coast, Hawkins started her coaching career at Central Wyoming College as an assistant women’s basketball coach. Her duties included weight room and individual workout duties, scouting and social media planning.
Hawkins began her collegiate career at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Ind. before transferring to Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. At Wiley, Hawkins was one of the top shot blockers in NAIA during her junior season as she was a two-year starter.
A native of Sacramento, Calif., Hawkins graduated with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies - Child Development in 2018 and is currently working on her MBA in Marketing.
