Kerrie Patterson-Brown

Patterson-Brown joins the Texas Southern Tigers after 13 years of collegiate coaching. The last 9 seasons she was the head coach at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas. At Huston-Tillotson, she wore many hats, women's basketball coach, assistant athletic director/intramural coordinator (2004-2007), and a instructor.

 

While at the helm of the HT program, Coach Brown led the Rams to post season play 7 out of the 9 years. They were ranked in the top half of the conference 8 years straight and she developed 22 first team all conference players, 12 all conference academic student athletes and one honorable mention all american. The Lady Rams were nationally ranked in many positive statistical categories within the NAIA. Prior to Huston-Tillotson, Brown was an assistant coach at Texas A&M University for three seasons, helping build one of the top programs in the Big Twelve Conference, recruiting some of the top players in the nation all while earning her Master's degree in EAHR (Education Administration Human Resource).

 

Brown played collegiately at Texas A&M University from 1995-99. She played for the 1996 squad that advanced to the NCAA tournament. As a student-athlete, she received the GTE Academic Achievement Award. Her Aggies won the last-ever Southwest Conference Tournament championship. As team captain from 1996-1999, Brown left her mark on the Aggie program, ranking in the top 20 in several categories.

 

As a Yates (Houston) High School athlete, she played on the 1995 UIL Texas All-Star team. She was a Blue-Chip athlete who was ranked one of the top women athletes in the state of Texas in 1995. She was the team's MVP in softball and volleyball and was named the outstanding female Athlete of the Year for Yates High School.

 

Brown married her college sweetheart, Reggie Brown. They currently reside in Houston with their two sons Reginald Patterson Brown (10) and Michael Payne Brown (4).
