Jaye Nayreau began working with the Lady Tigers Basketball program in September of 2013. His responsibilities include all aspects of recruiting, assisting in all aspects of the Lady Tigers basketball camps, on-the-floor coaching working primarily with the perimeter players in skill development, scouting opponents and film breakdown, as well as community relations and service.
Nayreau came to Texas Southern from Southern Miss where his duties included day-to-day operations, on-the-floor coaching, recruiting and scouting.
The Texas native also worked at Stephen F. Austin and was also as an assistant coach at Dodge City Community College where he was involved with every aspect of the women's program, from in-game coaching to scouting and game preparation. He also handled schedule preparations and served as student-athlete advisor for the team.
Prior to his stop in Kansas, Nayreau spent one season on the Saint Louis Billiken staff as a graduate assistant coach. During that time, he oversaw all aspects of the Billiken Classic and also served as an academic advisor for the program. Nayreau began his coaching career at Sam Houston State where he was a student assistant during the 2001-02 season.
Nayreau received his bachelor's degree from SHSU in December 2002. Two years later he graduated from Baylor with a master's in sports pedagogy. Nayreau has also completed work toward a doctorate in counseling.
