Dominique Phillips

Dominique Phillips joined the Texas Southern Academic Enhancement staff in the summer of 2023 as an academic advisor.

Before transitioning over to the academic enhancement, Phillips served as the Executive Assistant for the women’s basketball program at TSU during the 2022-23 season. As the team's executive assistant, Phillips assisted the coaches with their daily needs along with managing schedules for both players and coaches while also monitoring the team's academic achievements. She also served as the team's liaison to several departments across campus.

Prior to her role as executive assistant, Phillips served as the head manager for the women's basketball program from 2018-22. As the head manager, Phillips played a key role in setting up the court for practice, team travel, game operations in addition to serving as a liaison to the sports information, compliance and academic enhancement departments.

A native of Houston and graduate of Barbara Jordan High School for Careers, Phillips began her career as a student manager at Prairie View A&M under former head women's track & field coach Angela Williams in 2012. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Prairie View A&M  in 2015 and also holds a degree in business from TSU which was obtained in 2022.
 
Phillips is committed to ensuring that students meet their academic goals by working with all stakeholders to provide a strong support system. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and loves to travel.
