A 1977 graduate of Texas Southern University, Hank Stewart is the third golf coach in Tiger history.  Stewart has been successful in his coaching career at TSU, coaching multiple All-Conference golfers including Gina Lee, Katrina Edwards, Talia Bennett, Andrica Moody and Andrew Tomchuck.
 
In 2007 he led the men’s team to a SWAC championship and TSU’s first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. 

In 2017 the TSU Lady Tigers Women's Golf team was crowned SWAC Champions. Texas Southern qualified to participate in the NCAA Regional held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Former TSU golfer Kassandra Rivera, was the second woman he coached  to a national golf tournament title as Georgette Rolle was the first to reap such honors.
 
Stewart is currently the only TSU head golf coach to win championships as a student-athlete, assistant coach and head coach.
