HAMPTON, Ga. – The Texas Southern men's golf team posted a two-day total of 594 (296 – 298) to move up the leaderboard and finish in second place at the D1 Invitational by The Underground hosted by Alabama A&M University on Tuesday.
Junior Bradley Lavinier posted a two-under-par 142 (73 – 69) to claim the individual title. Lavinier carded the tournament low with his 3-under-par final round, which included an eagle on his first hole, three birdies, 12 pars, and two bogeys. This also marks Lavinier's first individual win.
Sophomore Yashal Shah finished three shots off the lead and tied for second place with his one-over-par 145 (72 – 73) total. Senior Ravepon Kosalutta posted a 153 (75 – 78), while freshman Javier Vasquez was two shots back on 155 (78 – 77). Sophomore Ricardo Pham posted a 156 (77 – 79) total.
The Tigers conclude their regular season at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship on April 14-16 in Birmingham, Ala., at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley.
