The TSU women's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the 2025-26 SWAC Preseason Poll.
The team is coming off an historic 2024-25 campaign which saw them finish second overall in the SWAC and returning to the SWAC Tournament after a two-season absence. The team advanced to the semifinals of the tournament and earned the SWAC's Automatic Qualifier to the Women's NIT by virtue of its second-place finish. Playing in their first postseason contest since 2015, TSU hosted its first-ever contest and defeated St. Mary's before falling to Louisiana Tech in round two.
Led by head coach Vernette Skeete, the team opens the 2025-26 season at home against Wiley on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Tigers return four letterwinners from last season including one starter.Â
