Loudermill Leads The Way As TSU Remains Undefeated

The Texas Southern Lady Tigers continued their impressive run in the SWAC, improving to 5-0 with a commanding 70-48 victory over Alcorn State.

With the win, TSU moves to 5-0 in the SWAC for the first time since 2017.

The Lady Tigers set the tone early, with Coutrlyn Loudermill leading the charge. Loudermill scored 11 of Texas Southern's 19 points in the first quarter, including a 5-0 run to start the game. Her hot hand helped the Lady Tigers establish an early lead, which they never relinquished.

Jaida Belton made her presence felt in the paint during the second quarter, contributing seven points and four rebounds. A timely three-pointer from Daeja Holmes just before halftime extended Texas Southern's lead to 37-27. Despite a buzzer-beater three-pointer by Alcorn State to end the half, the Lady Tigers came out strong after the half, stretching their lead to over 20 points.

Texas Southern maintained their dominance throughout the final quarter, securing a comfortable 70-48 win.

Loudermill scored 19 for TSU while Aylasia Fantroy grabbed 11 rebounds with three blocks.

The Lady Tigers will look to continue their winning streak as they face Alabama State in their next match-up on Thursday in Montgomery, Ala. at 6 p.m.
