Softball Falls To Florida A&M 4-0 In 2nd Round

GULFPORT, Miss – Texas Southern softball dropped a 4-0 decision to Florida A&M in the second round of the 2024 SWAC Softball Tournament on Wednesday.
 
FAMU scored in the bottom of the first for the early 1-0 lead but the TSU defense kept things close with solid plays. With FAMU threatening in the third with the bases loaded, TSU threw two consecutive runners out at home to keep it close.
 
TSU couldn't get going offensively against the Rattlers to match the play of the defense as the Rattlers as they went up 2-0 after a triple led to a fielder's choice RBI. The Rattlers added another run in the fifth for a 3-0 lead another in the sixth to lead 4-0 as that was all they needed.
 
Paris Johnson had TSU's lone hit while Karisma Garcia drew two walks.
 
TSU is back in action at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday against Bethune-Cookman.
