Leya Parker had a career-best performance on the lanes as TSU returned to action at the 2022 Stormin' Blue & White Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.

TSU opened the first day with a 1-4 mark in Baker action as they defeated Grambling State (848-685) but fell to McKendree (1,120-875), Monmouth (880-826), Mount St. Mary's (939-921) and Stephen F. Austin (1,126-945).

Parker, a sophomore from Bellflower, Calif., had a team-best 194 average as she led TSU to a 3-2 record in traditional play. TSU started off with back-to-back wins over Maryville (946-911) and Tulane (917-906) before falling to Maryland Eastern Shore (1,064-966). The team bounced back with a 895-794 win over SWAC rival Prairie View A&M before closing out traditional play with a loss to Vanderbilt (1,015-841).

Parker bowled three games with 200-plus pins as she had a high of 244 against UMES. Evan Smith followed with a 190 average as she had a high of 233 versus Prairie View A&M and a 206 against Tulane. Shyanne Ciesiolka finished third on the team with an average of 181.2 followed by Leanna Martinez (174.6) and Cassie De La Fuente (173.2).

TSU closed out bracket play with a 2-1 mark as they defeated Spalding University twice while falling to Prairie View A&M 4-2.
