TSU Athletics Announces 2021 Student-Athlete Graduation Candidates

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Texas Southern University will be commemorating 70 graduating student-athletes between the spring and summer semesters.

Texas Southern University's Class of 2021 will be recognized in an in-person commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 8. Fifty student-athletes are candidates for spring graduation with another 20 summer candidates. Summer candidates have the option to walk in the spring if desired as the next commencement date wouldn't take place until December.

"Nothing brings me more pride than seeing our student-athletes walk across that stage," said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kevin Granger. "To see these students put forth all that effort not only on the course, field, pitch, or track, but as well as dominate in the classroom is truly inspiring. They put in their all for their respective sports and worked just as hard on their studies to make it to this prestigious stage. I wish all these student-athletes well."

The ceremony will recognize all undergraduate and graduate candidates and Benjamin Crump, attorney, civil rights leader, and author will address graduates during both ceremonies.

The Spring 2021 Commencement ceremonies will take place at 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 inside Durley Stadium on the campus of Texas Southern University.
