NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Texas Southern Women's basketball team placed three players score in double figures, but it was not enough for the Lady Tigers to overcome Stephen F. Austin Saturday evening. Texas Southern fell 74-55 to SFA.

Texas Southern trailed 25-15 at the end of the first quarter, and faced a 43-31 deficit at the break. The Lady Tigers managed to outscore Stephen F. Austin 19-9 in the final quarter, but it was not enough as the contest was put out of reach during a third quarter in which the Ladyjacks posted a 22-5 advantage.

Marquia Turner and Niya Mitchell each scored 16 points, with Mitchell coming a rebound shy of a double-double. Oliva Cunningham added 14 points. On the boards, Catherine Okwilagwe led TSU with 10 rebounds along with a pair of blocks. The Lady Tigers shot 23-of-61 (37.7 percent) from the field.
Chanell Hayes led the Ladyjacks with 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Riley Harvey added 13 points with six boards. Imani Johnson chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and Stephanie Visscher scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds.
