LORMAN, MISS. – Keiana Vines scored a game-high 18 points in the 53-41 Texas Southern victory over Alcorn State Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers, Alabama State and Southern share the regular season champion title, each with a 14-4 Conference record.
Vines went on to finish the game with eight rebounds and four blocks. Joyce Kennerson managed 13 points with seven rebounds, while Brianna Sidney tallied nine points with four rebounds.
Ashtin McNichols paced the Lady Braves with 11 points. She was the lone student-athlete to hit double figures in scoring. Norianna Haynes was held at collecting four points, but caught a game-high 12 boards, while Jazmin Strane earned 10 rebounds with eight points.
The Lady Braves made 24.2 percent of their shots from the field while forcing 12 turnovers. The Lady Tigers made 19 of their 55 shot from the field – 63.2 percent from the free throw line.
