Lady Tigers fall at home to Grambling State

HOUSTON- Texas Southern suffered its second conference loss of the season at the hands of Grambling State, 49-46, Monday night at the HPE Arena.

With the loss, the Lady Tigers are now tied in first-place with Alabama State – each with a 10-2 conference record.

Keiana Vines registered a game-high 19 points with 13 rebounds for TSU.

With her sixth double-double of the season, Vines went 8-for-12 in shooting, while going 50 percent at the free throw line (3-6) - ten of her rebounds were defensive.

TSU's Brianna Sidney also hit double figures in scoring as she contributed 11 points, six rebounds and five assists. Toni Cheadle collected nine points and grabbed eight boards.

GSU was paced by Monisha Neal and Shakyla Hill who each put up 13 points and two assists. Hill's 10 rebounds allowed her second double-double of the year.

John'ea Thompson managed nine points, 10 rebounds, two assists and four steals, while Bre'nae Andrews captured eight points and four steals.

Grambling State forced 20 turnovers and shot 33.3 percent from the field, 28.6 percent in three-point range and 75 percent at the line.

As a team, the Lady Tigers forced 13 turnovers while securing a shooting percentage of 39.5.
