Lady Tigers fall in competitive game at UNO

NEW ORLEANS – Texas Southern University's Lady Tigers saw their three-game winning streak snapped Wednesday as they fell 63-57 at New Orleans.
 
Randi Brown scored a game-high 20 points – with 10 of those coming at the free throw line on 12 attempts – to lead the host Privateers (3-3) to the victory. Jewel Angelo came off the UNO bench to score 12 points for the Privateers.
 
Sophomore guard Joyce Kennerson led Texas Southern (4-2) with 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Kaitlyn Palmer chipped in nine points for the Lady Tigers.
 
The Lady Tigers fell to 0-2 against Southland Conference opponents, and will aim to reverse that trend in their next game Sunday, when they visit nearby Houston Baptist. Tipoff between the Huskies and Lady Tigers is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.
