BATON ROUGE, La.-The Texas Southern Lady Tigers softball team dropped a 5-0 decision to Nebraska on Saturday at the NCAA Tournament.
The loss brings a close to an amazing run by Texas Southern as the Lady Tigers captured back-to-back conference titles and their fourth consecutive Western Division crown.
TSU's pitcher Madison Staton held the Cornhuskers in check for the majority of the contest. Nebraska led 2-0 after five innings of play.
Texas Southern second baseman and SWAC Player of the Year Thomasina Garza concluded her career at TSU with a double in her final at bat.
"I can't say enough about what this group has done this year," said TSU head coach Worley Barker. "This was a great season and I couldn't be prouder of this team and the way they competed all season."
