HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers basketball team put forth another solid performance on Monday at the HPE Arena as they defeated Alabama A&M 67-54.
Brianna Sidney led the team in scoring with 13 points as she went 5-of-8 from the field. Ashley Ferguson entered the game off the bench and tallied 11 points going 5-of-7 in eight minutes of action.
The Lady Tigers raced out to a 39-26 halftime advantage and never looked back from there. Defensively Texas Southern was solid allowing AAMU to shoot just 33 percent from the floor.
Texas Southern scored 23 points off Alabama A&M miscues and outrebounded the Lady Bulldogs 41-29.
TSU enters its contest versus Prairie View A&M as one of the hottest teams in the league. The Lady Tigers improved to 8-1 in conference play with the victory on Monday night.
