Erik Dixon

Erik Dixon, a 2006 graduate of Jackson State University, comes to Texas Southern University after having served as the volunteer assistant during the last four seasons. 

Prior to TSU, Dixon spent three years at The Kinkaid School in Houston where he was very instrumental in the girls program which won two Southwest Preparatory Conference Track & Field Championships along with winning the 2018 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Girls 4x200 Relay. 

Coach Dixon currently works with the USATF Olympic coaching staff assisting with USA relay development.  Dixon also has had coaching stints at Stanford University, where he worked with sports performance for Olympic sports and track & field during the 2010 season. He was also at McNeese State University and Jackson State.
 
While coaching at McNeese during the 2013 and 2014 track seasons, he worked with the hurdles, vertical and horizontal jumps.  His athletes won conference championships in the long jump and 4x100 relay along with multiple all-conference performances.
 
Dixon also served three years at his alma mater as an assistant track and field coach. During his time in Jackson, the Lady Tigers won three Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships and Dixon was named JSU Assistant Coach of the Year in 2009.

A native of Hyattsville, Md., Dixon was an All-Conference performer in several events at Jackson State where he holds the school record of 6603 in the decathlon.
 
He also holds a master's degree in Health and Human Performance from McNeese State University and holds USATF Level-I, USTFCCCA Jumps Specialist and a USTFCCCA Strength and Conditioning.
