Krishanda Brown arrived to Texas Southern after a two year stint at Converse College in Spartanburg SC, where she spent two seasons as the assistant coach in charge of jumps. At Converse College Brown has coached All-Conference Carolina Indoor and Outdoor student-athletes in the areas of Triple jump and the Pole Vault disciplines.

Before her two year run at Converse, Brown was also a decorated collegiate athlete at Benedict College in nearby Columbia, SC where Brown also coached at her alma mater for the 2015-16 season as an assistant. As a coach at Benedict, Brown coached two NCAA National Qualifiers, an All-American Triple jumper and a South Regional Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.

While at competing for Benedict, Krishanda earned three consecutive USTFCCCA All-American honors in both the long and triple jump events for Indoor and Outdoor seasons. From 2013-15, Brown was named USTFCCCA South Regional Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.  Brown added the USTFCCCA South Regional Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honor in 2015.

Before college, Brown competed for her native country of Bahamas in 2005 and 2006 at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

A native from Nassau, Bahamas, Brown graduated from Benedict College with a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation and also has a Masters of Liberal arts degree in History from Converse College.
