Texas Southern’s Devin Konarik was named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) baseball pitcher of the week.
 
Konarik pitched 6 innings against Grambling to capture his second win of the season.  He also set a TSU record by striking out 14 batters.  The right handed pitcher from Houston had 11 strikeouts by the 4^th inning.    The previous best in recent history was Brian Smith who struck out 13 batters against Grambling on March 21, 2010.
 
For the game, Konarik gave up 4 hits, 2 walks and no runs for 0.00 ERA.
 
“Devin was on and dominated against a good hitting team,” said head coach Michael Robertson. “He commanded all 3 pitches and he has given us quality starts consistently.”
 
Konarik is 2-1 for the season.
