Fulmore named the SWAC's Pitcher of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas Southern University softball player Jasmin Fulmore was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week after her performance during the week of April 16 through 22.
 
Fulmore pitched a two-hit shutout Friday to lead the Lady Tigers to 1-0 win over Southern in the first of a three-game series. She struck out six batters while walking only three en route to her third shutout of the season.
 
The senior from Federal Way, Wash., leads all starting pitchers in the SWAC with a 1.67 ERA. Opponents are batting only .210 against Fulmore, which ranks third in the conference, while her 51 strikeouts is the fifth-highest total in the league.
 
The Lady Tigers travel to Austin on Wednesday for a game at Texas, and then will play a weekend series at Prairie View A&M to conclude the week.
