Tigers edge Alabama A&M 58-56 on the road

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –Brian Carey made a 3-point play and Donte Clark scored four points in the final 4:03 as the Tigers rallied past the host Bulldogs late to pull out a 58-56 road victory at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. 

Clark and Jerry Perry scored 14 points apiece and Carey added 12 points for Texas Southern (5-16, 5-3 SWAC).

Texas Southern shot 42 percent from field (21-50) while limiting the Bulldogs to 39 percent (21-53).

Defensively the Tigers were also able to force 19 AAMU turnovers highlighted by Lamont Walker's three steals and Brian Carey's two. TSU racked up a total of 10 steals as the Tigers showed signs of improvement on the defensive end of the floor.

TSU will take the court next at Alabama State on Monday, January 29 at 7:30 pm.
